The concept of this project was to create a poster designed for a pre-existing national holiday or to create one of our own. Elvis Presley was my inspiration for a national holiday poster. On August 16, 1977 the world lost one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. He is often referred to as the “King of Rock and Roll” or simply “The King.”
Regional student artists communicated famous quotes through artistic works in the “Notable Quotable Exhibition” in the River Campus Art Gallery of Southeast Missouri State University.
This juried exhibition brings together work by graphic design and illustration students from across the region. It is organized by the Southeast American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) student group. The AIGA connects design students at Southeast to professional designers, encouraging and engaging students in the process of design.
The objective was to design a poster based off of a quote of my choice. This poster was designed based from the quote by Osho. It was entered into the contest and chosen to be represented while I was a student at Maryville University.
